Oscillator X is excited to finally get the opportunity to perform for our “all age” friends in the Portland, OR area. OSX will be playing at the Satyricon on November 29th, 2009. It is an early show on a Sunday, so that will work great for our “working stiff” friends as well. The show is all ages AND bar with ID, so something for everyone. New When Machines Dream Release

SCI Recordings is excited to release a brand new When Machines Dream song, Prognosis. The song is from the upcoming When Machines Dream CD and features (gasp!) a synthesizer solo. The decision to incorperate a synth solo was inspired by a recent Keytar purchase and a dare from a friend to try to do it. “I had shown my new vintage Roland Axis keytar to a musician friend of mine and he dared me to totally rock a rippin’ keytar solo – 80’s style. The deal was that I could edit and clean it up, but I had to actually play it realtime. So Prognosis is the result.” says John Mendenhall, who adds, “The Axis does kinda lend itself to that sort of thing (laughs)”. On the subject of a new When Machines Dream CD, the album is (and has been) about 90% done, but has been delayed due to the busy schedule of Oscillator X. Both John and Kyle are hoping to turn more attention to their other musical projects (WMD & KaW respectively) in the last bit of 2009 and early 2010, as well as keeping the Oscillator X machine running full steam ahead. So hopefully we will see a steady stream of new SCI releases for the rest of the year. Prognosis is available in the SCI Recordings Store now, so check it out.

SCI Recordings is pleased to announce our new YouTube channel. Over the last year or two, footage from live shows, etc. have been piling up in “the vaults” and we finally have started to go through it all, edit it and put it on YouTube for everyone to enjoy. Oscillator X will be performing a surprise (to us as well!) show tomorrow night – October, 10th in Portland, OR. The event is the Super Hero / Super Villain Ceasefire Party. The party is hosted by the Alter Ego Society and is a benefit for P:ear, an organization dedicated to creatively mentoring homeless youth. We look forward to seeing all you heroes & villains tomorrow night!

Banzai Is Back

After a long haiatus due to heavy involvement with other projects, Banzai is back. The finishing touches are being put on a brand new Banzai song entitled Land Of The Lost. Banzai’s ethnic-flavored tribal house songs such as Anubis, Zodiac, and Exotica have been featured in the In The Groove series of video games as well as the KaW albums Synthsations & Urban Comatose (available HERE). In addition, there is also a rumor floating around the SCI Office that a previously previewed, but never officially released Banzai track, entitled Enigma is to be released soon as well. New Oscillator X Remixes On The Way

SCI Recordings has recently commisioned Swedish DJ/Producer Playmaker to remix two songs from the Oscillator X album Techno – Techyes. The songs to be remixed are the first two singles from the album, Dynamo and Party People (All Night Long). Playmaker has done two remixes for SCI in the past,  Style On My Speed Dial (Fashion Mix) and The Neon Underground (Digital Edge Mix). All of these songs & remixes can be heard HERE. Playmaker is on the cutting edge of the current European sound, which compliments Oscillator X music perfectly. Many of you will recognise the name from the Pump It Up Pro songlist. Playmaker songs featured in PIU Pro are Coming Out, Do What You Wanna Do, Nightmooves and Sunshine. We look forward to hearing the new remixes and releasing them for you all to enjoy as well.

New Oscillator X Radio Single Released

The second radio single from Oscillator X’s album Techno ~ Techyes has just been released. The first station to add the new single Party People (All Night Long) is Tacoma’s I-91 FM.  You can check out the 51,000 watt station’s playlist HERE.

Oscillator X Rocks Tacoma

Oscillator X performed at the Electro Pop Art Party in Tacoma on Saturday, August 15th, along with Deborah Page. The show was held at the Robert Daniel Gallery and also featured Pop Art from a variety of local and regional artists. The show was alot of fun and the small but enthusiastic crowd seemed to have a great time as well. Teresa Mullins of Shorty’s Entertainment shot some video of the show that can be watched HERE.

Oscillator X just returned from Europe where they performed to an enthusiastic (to say the least) crowd in Amsterdam for the Machine Dance World Cup 2009 awards ceremony. The event was sponsored by Positive Gaming and the Finnish Dance Gamer Association and featured the top Machine Dance competitors from around the globe. Oscillator X would like to thank these fine organizations for a great event and mostly, all of the players for joining us and dancing thier a$$es off at the concert. We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Oscillator X – Live In Tacoma

Oscillator X is excited to perform at the Electro Pop Art Party in Tacoma, WA. on August 15th. The Party will be at The Robert Daniel Gallery and will feature a Pop Art exposition as well as a a DJ opening for OSX.

Oscillator X In Amsterdam

Oscillator X in Amsterdam for a week or so, to perform at the 2009 Machine Dance World Cup.  The event, sponsored by Positive Gaming, draws the best players from all over the world to compete for Machine Dance’s highest honors. Oscillator X, along with Finland’s G-Powered will be closing the event with  a bang at the awards ceremony on Saturday night. It has been great fun so far, re-connecting with our European friends and partners and we look forward to a great week. Oscillator X will be performing material from thier ne Techno – Techyes album, along with a selection of  favorite KaW, Smiley, etc.& When Machines Dream songs from iDance, the In The Groove series and the Pump It Up series of Machine Dancing games. Oscillator X is excited to rock the house and look forward to kicking it with all of the players and sponsors. Hope to see you there!

Oscillator X Returns To Europe

Oscillator X returns to Europe next week (1/2 the group is already there!) to perform at Positive Gaming’s Machine Dance World Cup 2009 event. The competition draws players from all over the globe to compete for Machine Dance’s highest honors. The concert, which also features Finland’s G-Powered and a suprise guest, will take place at Silverstone, just outside of Amsterdam, in Zwanenburg. The concert starts at 9:00 PM with G-Powered, then OSX will hit the stage, rocking favorites  from In The Groove 1 & 2, iDance & Pump It Up, including a few never before performed live. We look forward to seeing you there!

Coconut Continues To Climb The Charts

Coconut continues to climb the radio charts on California’s KRYC Rhythm 105.9, reaching #6 now on the top 20 chart. Congratulations Coconut – let’s see how far you climb next week!

SCI  Artist Relocates Back To The PNW

John Mendenhall of When Machines Dream, Oscillator X and co-producer/writer for Coconut recently returned to the Pacific Northwest. John, a lifelong native of the PNW, relocated to the Cincinnati area to head up the eastern SCI office in late 2007. It was decided that with so many things going on with Oscillator X, that he and Kyle should be closer than 2700 miles apart.        ( editors note: we think he was just sick of the harsh Midwest weather and missed the outdoor recreation that the PNW offers – lol ). John is settling into a temporary studio space while he locates an official one ( so look for another studio building article in the Tech Sector section soon!). In the meantime , Oscillator X are preparing to return to Europe at the end of the month.

Two New Oscillator X Songs Released

Oscillator X has been busy of late, but between lots of live shows, radio promotions and preparing to go to Europe, they have found the time to record two brand new songs! Both songs show the band “stretching out” a bit artistically from some of their past material ( especially “Night On Fire!). They are both available for preview listening and of course for purchase in the SCI store right now.

Coconut Enters The Radio Charts!

We are pleased to announce that Coconut has entered the radio market along side Oscillator X.  Her single “Ladybug” has recently entered the Rhythm 105.9 FM mix show charts!  Stay tuned for news as we continue to see her climb the dance charts at KRYC!
