We’ve been very busy behind the scenes at SCI Recordings lately with Oscillator X shows and promotion. The recent release “Silicon Samurai” has been making several positive waves across various radio stations & music sources. Oscillator X also recently returned home from Amsterdam from the Positive Gaming WC 2010 event. The show was a success and thank you to all our European friends for the fun that evening. Here is a video of our final Encore song “Monolith” from the evening.

This week is the last week that we will be offering the Limited Edition Silicon Samurai CD. Each of the Limited Edition CD’s are opened, signed & numbered and re-sealed in an import CD poly bag and mailed directly to you for $15.00 including postage to anywhere on earth (off-world customers, please contact us for shipping quote). The deadline for ordering will be Saturday, May 22nd. If you really want one, but for some reason cannot order by the deadline, please contact us and we can probably work something out. Oscillator X will be performing live in Seattle on Saturday, March 27th for C89.5 FM’s Listener Appreciation Party 4.0. The all ages show is just $8.95 and also features live performances by headliner Kim Sozzi, Seattle’s own Go Periscope and Edara. Holding down the turntables on this action-packed evening are Richard J Dalton, DJ Lifeguard, DJ Skittle, DJ Trent Von and DJ Randy Schlager. And if that wasn’t enough, the event will also host the Vortex Stage! This promises to be one of the year’s best parties and it will all be going down at Neighbours Nightclub this weekend from 6 – 10 PM. Absolutely be there!

Oscillator X Live In Seattle – C89.5 Listener Appreciation Party 4
Oscillator X is honored and excited to be performing at C89.5’s Listener Apreciation Party 4. The event is on Saturday, March 27th at Neighbours Nightclub in Seattle, WA. Oscillator X will be sharing the stage with our friends Go Periscope and the amazing Kim Sozzi as well as the C89.5 Team Drive-at-Five & Vortex Stage. This is a lineup that you won’t want to miss. Tickets are just $8.95 and the event is open to all ages!
The brand new Oscillator X album, tentatively titled “Silicon Samurai” is just about finished. So far, 10 new original songs, 1 cover and 4 remixes have been completed. The expected release date is sometime in mid-April. We are still busy recording songs for the album and as soon as we have a final tracklist and a firm release date, we will let you know. SCI will most likely offer a select number pre-release (signed and numbered) limited edition copies as well. You can preview some of the new tracks HERE.
Oscillator X just returned home from Paris, France where the duo performed two shows and exhibited at a convention. The group was scheduled to perform a concert at a Paris nightclub “Be There” and also to exhibit for two days at the Paris Manga convention, along with thier distribution partners EDG.
Day one of the convention went very well – there were enough French fans in attendance that OSX sold out of about half of the merchandise that they had brought to the con. Then it was decided that they would do an impromptu performance right in the booth on the following day. After spending the evening driving all over Paris and borrowing bits and pieces of pro-audio gear from friends (and freshly aquired friends), and cramming it all into little tiny cars, they were able to cobble together a PA and proceded to rock a 6-song mini set for the convention attendees. The set went over great and by the time they were finished, both the group and their French distributor were completely sold out of all OSX merchandise – leaving nothing to actually sell at the concert later that evening.
Be There is a small, but very well equipped nightclub and was packed with mainly people that the group had made friends with on previous trips to Europe. The enthusiastic crowd joined in with Oscillator X, singing thier way through the approximately 20-song set. At one point in the show, a power supply (apparently unable to cope with the 240 volt power), gave out and the show came to a screeching halt. Not “phased” in the slightest, the crowd continued singing the song while a new power supply was hastilly pressed into service and the concert resumed without a hitch. Many thanks to the French fans for helping the band through that “speedbump” in the show, which incidentally, was the first (and hopefully ONLY) time that such a malfunction has occured.
Overall, the Paris trip was an overwhelming success for the band and also included lots of sightseeing around Paris and some great times with friends, both old and new.
Oscillator X is looking forward to returning to France soon!

Oscillator X will be making thier first appearance in France on February 7th, 2010. The band will be exhibiting at the Paris Manga Convention in association with Electronic Dancing Games, SCI Recordings exclusive French distributor and then rocking an after-party at Be There in Paris. We look forward to getting to hang out with all of our friends and fans from France & neighboring countries!
SCI Recordings is proud to release Japanese Girlfriend, the brand new single from Oscillator X. Within hours of it’s release, the song has been flying out of the SCI Recordings Store and has had a licencing request. Japanese Girlfriend is one of the final batch of songs being recorded for Oscillator X’s second CD, scheduled for a March, 2010 release and features additional backing vocals by former Mendenhall vocalist/ pianist Jeff Haines. We spent the end of 2009 researching and gathering feedback on the best way to keep you all up to date on the many exciting things that Oscillator X are up to and the result is the brand new Oscillator X website! The site is a very streamlined resource that (hopefully!) offers a simple interface with everything that you would like to see (and hear) in one place with simple navigation that is free of the flashy crap that no one cares about anyway. We welcome any and all feedback as we continue to tweak the site, so please stop by and check it out and let us know what you think!
John and Kyle have been VERY busy lately (and, well… Playmaker too). The results of thier combined labors have resulted in a slew of new Oscillator X songs lately, including the latest – Together With You. This new song showcases the more upbeat pop side of Oscillator X, with both John and Kyle sharing vocal duties. Together With You is available now for listening and purchase in the SCI Recordings Store. Also, our friend Mitch from the excellent Bubblegumdancer.com website has started a forum thread about the song, so head on over and voice your opinion on Together With You.
Oscillator X will be kicking off 2010 with a show at Tacoma’s First Night New Years Eve event. First Night is Tacoma’s New Year’s Eve celebration. It is an opportunity for friends and families to say farewell to the old year and hello to the new. First Night is a family-friendly, alcohol-free, and most of all, a fabulously FUN celebration. The city closes off Broadway (yes, THAT “My Posse’s On…” Broadway) and the whole street is a multi-venue party. Oscillator X will be closing the event at 12:15 AM at the Speakeasy Arts Collective. So come down and catch the first Oscillator X show of the new decade and start your 2010 off in robot rockin’ style!
